DESCRIPTION OF MICA
Mica has an unusual particle shape. It is wide and long but very thin. Also it is very flexible, withstands high temperatures, and can have an attractive appearance.
GRADES OF MICA
Views its grade
Mica #135 Flake-This high quality muscovite mica is carefully graded to maintain flexural strength, provide a uniform particle size and have a low bulk density.
Mica Coarse Phlogopite Mica Flake-This high quality phlogopite mica is delaminated to maintain exceptional flexural strength and high thermal resistance. Its golden color is intrinsic to the mineral. Recommended for industrial applications such as polymer filling, fiber cement and as a glass fiber extender.
Mica Cosmetic Micro Mica FDA-This is finely divided mica. It has a low sheen and is entirely without sparkle. For use in all sorts of color cosmetics and press powders where a flat rather than glossy look is required.
Mica Golden And Cosmetic Grade-This high quality phlogopite mica is presented in flakes clearly visible to the naked eye. It is delaminated to maintain exceptional strong, thin plates. It is valued for its golden color, which is natural and intrinsic to the mineral.
Mica Industrial 3000-
Mica Muscovite 40-200 mesh Silanated-This high quality muscovite mica is carefully graded to maintain flexural strength, provide a uniform particle size, and have a low bulk density. Further it is surface modified with silane to provide ease of dispersion and strong binding as a polymer filler.
Mica Synthetic- This mica is a world-class, brilliant white material suitable for demanding applications. A synthetic material, this mica is manufactured rather than mined in a process that produces a mica-crystalline product. Stable up to 850 degrees centigrade, this product is used in high-tech and high purity applications.
Mica types and Comparison of-There are three naturally occurring types of Mica and one synthetic grade of mica commercially available. Micas have high aspect ratios, are flexible and compressible. They are used in paints, sealants, plastics, cosmetics, artificial stone and other manufacturing.
